Unit Course Questionnaire
Full Form of UCQ
What is UCQ?
A Unit Course Questionnaire, commonly abbreviated as UCQ, is a structured feedback form used in Indian higher education institutions to collect student responses about a specific course or unit within a semester. Universities, engineering colleges, and business schools across India distribute these questionnaires towards the end of each academic term so that students can share their views on teaching quality, course content, assessment methods, and overall learning experience. The data gathered through UCQs is then analysed by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and academic committees to identify gaps in the curriculum, improve faculty training programmes, and align syllabi with industry expectations. Many NAAC and NBA accreditation processes also require institutions to maintain documented evidence of such student feedback mechanisms, making UCQs an important compliance tool. In states like Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Delhi, universities including Anna University, JNTU, and Delhi University have adopted UCQ-style feedback systems as part of their outcome-based education framework. For students preparing for UGC NET or other education-related competitive exams, understanding feedback and evaluation systems in Indian higher education remains a relevant topic.
