Test Readiness Review
Full Form of TRR
What is TRR?
Test Readiness Review (TRR) is a formal evaluation process used in software development, aerospace, and defence projects to determine whether a system or product is ready to proceed to the next stage of testing. In India, TRR is widely practised in organisations such as ISRO, DRDO, HAL, and in private IT firms following global project management and quality standards. The review assesses whether all prerequisites for formal testing have been met, including documentation, test plans, test cases, infrastructure, and prior test results. A successful TRR confirms that the testing team is prepared to execute planned test activities without significant gaps or risks. It typically involves stakeholders from engineering, quality assurance, project management, and sometimes the client. For Indian students pursuing careers in software testing, aerospace engineering, or defence technology, understanding TRR processes is highly relevant, as these terms frequently appear in technical interviews, certifications like ISTQB, and competitive exams conducted by agencies like ISRO and DRDO.
