Quality Review Board
Full Form of QRB
What is QRB?
A Quality Review Board (QRB) is a committee or body established by educational institutions, universities, or regulatory authorities in India to assess and enhance the quality of academic programs, curricula, infrastructure, and administrative processes. QRBs conduct periodic reviews, audits, and evaluations to ensure that institutions meet prescribed standards and continuously improve their offerings. In India, QRBs are often formed by higher education regulatory bodies such as the University Grants Commission (UGC), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) to oversee quality assurance processes at the institutional or program level. They are also used by individual universities to review examination question papers, research output, and faculty performance. QRBs play a critical role in maintaining credibility and ranking in frameworks like the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). Students and faculty may encounter QRB recommendations during accreditation cycles or curriculum revisions. For competitive exams like UGC NET or university administration roles, understanding the function of QRBs is helpful to answer questions on quality assurance mechanisms in Indian education.
