One Young World
Full Form of OYW
What is OYW?
One Young World (OYW) is a global non-profit organisation that brings together the brightest young leaders from every country to address pressing world issues. Founded in 2009, it hosts an annual summit where delegates aged 18 to 30 collaborate on solutions for challenges like climate change, education, peace, and equality. In India, OYW has a significant presence: hundreds of Indian youth have attended the summit, and the country often contributes high-impact projects through its delegates. The organisation works with corporate and government partners to support young changemakers, and Indian participants frequently return to launch initiatives in healthcare, sanitation, and digital literacy. OYW is used widely in youth leadership circles, university outreach programs, and CSR initiatives across India. For competitive exams like UPSC and state civil services, awareness of platforms like OYW demonstrates knowledge of global youth movements and soft diplomacy. The summit is often compared to the World Economic Forum but focused exclusively on young leaders. Delegates gain mentorship, networking opportunities, and visibility on international stages. OYW’s impact in India is visible through alumni who have become social entrepreneurs, policymakers, and advocates for sustainable development.
