National Recruitment Agency
Full Form of NRA
What is NRA?
The National Recruitment Agency (NRA) is a central government body established by the Government of India to streamline and simplify the recruitment process for non-gazetted posts across various departments. It was announced in the Union Budget 2020-21 and formally launched in 2021. The NRA conducts a Common Eligibility Test (CET) for Group B and C posts, replacing multiple entrance exams currently handled by agencies like SSC, RRB, and IBPS. The CET is held in multiple languages and aims to reduce the burden on candidates by offering a single online test that can be taken at any time. Results are valid for three years. This initiative promotes transparency, saves time, and reduces examination costs for both aspirants and the government. For students preparing for government jobs, understanding the NRA’s role is crucial as it directly impacts their exam strategy. The NRA is especially relevant for exams like SSC CGL, RRB NTPC, and IBPS PO at the preliminary stage. It represents a major reform in India's public sector recruitment landscape.
