Mizoram
Full Form of MIZ
What is MIZ?
MIZ is the widely recognised abbreviation for Mizoram, one of the seven sister states in the northeastern region of India. Situated in the far eastern corner of the country, Mizoram shares international borders with Bangladesh to the west and Myanmar to the east, while connecting domestically with Assam, Manipur, and Tripura. The state has Aizawl as its capital and is predominantly inhabited by the Mizo tribal community, alongside other smaller indigenous groups. Mizoram was granted full statehood on 20 February 1987, prior to which it functioned as a Union Territory. The region is celebrated for its dense bamboo forests, rolling green hills, rich cultural traditions, and an impressive literacy rate that ranks among the highest in India. The abbreviation MIZ is commonly spotted in government applications, postal services, railway reservation charts, educational certificates, and competitive exam papers. Aspirants preparing for examinations such as UPSC, SSC, banking, and various state-level tests should memorise the standard abbreviations of all Indian states. Mizoram is also notable for its strong Christian community, vibrant music scene, and the official Mizo language spoken widely across the region.
