Digital Signature Verification
Full Form of DSV
What is DSV?
Digital Signature Verification (DSV) is the process of validating the authenticity and integrity of a digital signature attached to an electronic document or transaction. In India, DSV plays a critical role in e-governance, online banking, legal filings, and procurement systems such as the Government e-Marketplace (GeM). It relies on public key infrastructure (PKI) where a Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) issued by a licensed Certifying Authority (CA) is used to sign documents, and the recipient verifies the signature using the signer's public key. DSV ensures non-repudiation, data integrity, and signer authentication, making it legally valid under the Information Technology Act, 2000. It is widely used for e-tendering, income tax return e-filing, MCA filings, and Aadhaar-based eKYC. DSV is essential for secure digital transactions and is a common topic in competitive exams like UPSC, IBPS PO, and SSC CGL under the computer awareness section. Understanding DSV is crucial for students pursuing careers in IT, law, or public administration.
