Data Acquisition (DAQ) refers to the process of measuring physical phenomena—such as voltage, temperature, pressure, or vibration—from sensors and converting those measurements into digital signals for analysis by a computer. In India, DAQ systems are widely used in scientific research laboratories, industrial automation units, biomedical instrumentation, and educational institutions. They typically comprise transducers, signal conditioning circuits, analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), and custom software for logging and real-time monitoring. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and defence labs rely on rugged DAQ modules for telemetry and environmental testing.
