What is UGN?
The Underground Network, commonly abbreviated as UGN, refers to a system of buried infrastructure components designed to deliver essential urban services while remaining hidden from public view. In India, UGNs have become increasingly important as cities expand rapidly and above-ground space becomes scarce and congested. These networks typically include underground water supply pipelines, sewerage systems, storm water drains, electrical cables, telecommunication lines, and more recently, underground power transmission corridors and metro rail tunnels.
