Teaching Learning Technology
Full Form of TLT
What is TLT?
Teaching Learning Technology, commonly abbreviated as TLT, refers to the integration of modern technological tools, digital platforms, and innovative pedagogical methods into the classroom environment to enhance the teaching and learning process. In India, TLT has gained significant importance with the National Education Policy 2020 emphasising the use of technology in education, the rise of ed-tech platforms like BYJU's, Unacademy, and Vedantu, and government initiatives such as DIKSHA and SWAYAM that promote digital learning. TLT is widely used in teacher training programs, curriculum design workshops, and academic research conducted by institutions like NCERT, IITs, and central universities across the country. The concept encourages teachers to move beyond traditional chalk-and-talk methods and adopt smart classrooms, learning management systems, virtual labs, and AI-based assessment tools. TLT is particularly relevant for students pursuing B.Ed, M.Ed, and other education-related courses, and frequently appears in NET, CTET, and state TET examinations. As Indian schools rapidly digitise under programmes like PM eVidya, understanding Teaching Learning Technology has become essential for both aspiring and practising educators.
