Quarterly General Examination
Full Form of QGE
What is QGE?
The Quarterly General Examination (QGE) is a standardized assessment conducted in many Indian schools and colleges at the end of each academic quarter. It evaluates students' understanding of the syllabus covered over the previous three months, covering subjects such as Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Languages. In India, the QGE is commonly used in central and state board-affiliated schools, as well as in some higher education institutions, to track progress and identify learning gaps. Typically held in July, October, and January for the first, second, and third quarters respectively, the exam contributes to the overall internal assessment or grade calculation. While not as high-stakes as final board exams, the QGE is important for continuous evaluation and helps students prepare for annual examinations. For competitive exam aspirants, familiarity with the QGE structure aids in time management and subject revision. The QGE is a key component of the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) framework adopted by many Indian educational boards.
