Punjab Zonal Warehouse
Full Form of PZW
What is PZW?
The Punjab Zonal Warehouse (PZW) is a state-level public storage facility managed under the Punjab Warehousing Corporation. It serves as a critical node in the agricultural supply chain, providing scientific storage for food grains, especially wheat and paddy procured during the rabi and kharif seasons. PZW operates across multiple zones in Punjab, ensuring that surplus produce is preserved against pests and moisture before distribution or export. The warehouses are used by the Food Corporation of India, state agencies, and farmer cooperatives for buffer stock maintenance. In examinations like Punjab PCS, PPSC, and state-level agriculture officer tests, questions on warehousing infrastructure and government storage schemes often reference PZW. The facility plays a key role in implementing minimum support price operations and reducing post-harvest losses. With the expansion of the e-NAM platform, PZW is also becoming integrated with digital procurement and inventory management systems.
