Pension Query and Grievance
Full Form of PQG
What is PQG?
Pension Query and Grievance (PQG) is an online portal implemented by Indian banks and government pension disbursing authorities to address pension-related queries and complaints. It allows retired government employees, defense personnel, and their families to submit grievances regarding pension arrears, revisions, family pensions, or discrepancies in monthly disbursals. The portal is primarily used by centralized pension processing centres (CPPCs) of public sector banks such as State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, and Canara Bank. PQG streamlines the redressal process by assigning a unique ticket number to each complaint, enabling real-time tracking and systematic escalation if unresolved. The system is accessible through bank websites and operates under the guidance of the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW). It is widely used across India, particularly for old-age pensioners who lack digital literacy, as banks also offer assistance counters. In competitive exams for banking and government jobs, questions on grievance mechanisms like PQG appear under the topics of e-governance and pension administration. Understanding PQG is essential for aspirants targeting roles in public sector banks or pension departments.
