Kisan Khet Mazdoor Federation
Full Form of KKF
What is KKF?
The Kisan Khet Mazdoor Federation (KKF) is an Indian trade union and farmers' organisation that advocates for the rights of agricultural workers and small-scale peasants. Formed in the early 2000s through the merger of several regional farmer groups, it operates primarily across northern and central India, with a strong presence in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Maharashtra. The KKF focuses on issues such as fair Minimum Support Prices (MSP), loan waivers, land rights, and social security for farm labourers. It is known for organising large-scale protests, including the 2020-21 farmers' agitation against the now-repealed farm laws, where it actively participated alongside other unions like the Samyukta Kisan Morcha. The federation uses peaceful marches, strikes, and legal advocacy to pressurize government bodies. In the Indian educational context, the KKF is often cited in civics and political science textbooks as an example of grassroots mobilisation and pressure group politics. Questions about its role in agricultural policy reforms appear in competitive exams like UPSC and State PCS, particularly in sections on social movements and farmer welfare.
