Jannayak Janta Party

What is JJP?
The Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) is a regional political party in India, primarily active in the state of Haryana. It was founded in 2018 by Dushyant Chautala and his uncle Ajay Chautala after a split from the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD). The party derives its name from the late leader Devi Lal, who was affectionately known as 'Jannayak' (people's leader). JJP's core ideology focuses on social justice, farmer welfare, and youth empowerment. The party quickly rose to prominence by securing 10 seats in the 2019 Haryana Legislative Assembly election and subsequently formed a coalition government with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), with Dushyant Chautala becoming Deputy Chief Minister. JJP is often discussed in news reports, political analyses, and electoral coverage within India. For competitive exams like UPSC, SSC, and state-level exams, questions on Haryana politics frequently mention JJP's role in the state's coalition dynamics and its impact on national party strategies. The party is also noted for its influence on the Jat community and its stance on issues like the agrarian crisis and employment generation in Haryana.
