Indian National Lok Dal
Full Form of INLD
What is INLD?
INLD stands for Indian National Lok Dal, a regional political party in India primarily active in the state of Haryana. The party was founded on October 8, 1996, by former Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhary Devi Lal after he split from the Haryana Lok Dal, which itself had broken away from the Janata Dal. INLD draws its core support from the agrarian Jat community and rural voters in Haryana, championing farmers' causes, agricultural pricing reforms, and rural development across the state. The party follows a centrist political ideology with a strong focus on farm loan waivers, minimum support price issues, and decentralised governance. INLD has played a notable role in Haryana politics, having been part of coalition governments and consistently winning a respectable share of assembly seats over the decades. After the passing of its founder in 2001, leadership passed to his sons Ajay Chautala and Abhay Chautala, who continue to lead the party. The party is a recognised state party in Haryana and has contested Lok Sabha elections as part of broader national alliances. INLD remains an important subject in competitive exams such as UPSC, state public service commissions, and banking examinations, where knowledge of Indian political parties and state-level polity is frequently tested.
