Gandhi Universal Vision
Full Form of GUV
What is GUV?
Gandhi Universal Vision (GUV) is a value-based educational framework introduced by the Ministry of Education in India to integrate Gandhian principles into school and college curricula. The initiative emphasizes non-violence, truth, self-reliance, and community service, aiming to develop holistic and morally grounded citizens. Launched as part of the National Education Policy 2020 framework, GUV is implemented across all central and state-board institutions, with specific modules for primary, secondary, and higher education. It is prominently used in moral science classes, extracurricular activities, and teacher training programs. The programme also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, especially those related to quality education and peace. For competitive exams like CTET, TET, and UGC-NET, knowledge of GUV is relevant under the sections of educational philosophy and contemporary India. The framework has been piloted in over 50,000 schools and is gradually expanding to rural and tribal areas through digital platforms. GUV encourages experiential learning through village adoption, cleanliness drives, and conflict resolution workshops, making it a practical tool for character building.
