What is DXX?
Digital X-ray (DXX) is a modern radiographic imaging technique that uses digital sensors instead of traditional photographic film to capture and store X-ray images. In India, DXX systems are increasingly adopted in hospitals, diagnostic centres, and mobile medical units due to their faster processing, lower radiation doses, and ability to enhance images for better diagnosis. The technology is widely used for routine chest X-rays, orthopaedic assessments, dental imaging, and emergency trauma evaluations. DXX images can be stored electronically, shared via Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), and integrated with hospital information systems for seamless patient management. The transition from analog to digital X-ray has improved diagnostic accuracy, reduced repeat exposures, and enabled tele-radiology services in rural and remote areas of India.
