Continuous Comprehensive Test
Full Form of CCT
What is CCT?
The Continuous Comprehensive Test (CCT) is a formative assessment method used in Indian schools, particularly under the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) framework introduced by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Unlike traditional year-end exams, CCT involves regular, periodic tests conducted throughout the academic term to measure students' ongoing understanding of subjects. It covers both scholastic areas like math and science and co-scholastic areas such as life skills and sports. In India, CCTs are typically held monthly or quarterly and help teachers identify learning gaps early, allowing for timely remediation. The approach shifts focus from rote memorization to conceptual clarity and holistic development. Students are assessed through a mix of written tests, projects, presentations, and class participation. While CCT is widely implemented in CBSE-affiliated schools, it is also adopted by state boards. For students preparing for competitive exams like NEET or JEE, understanding CCT patterns strengthens foundational knowledge. The method encourages consistent effort and reduces exam stress. In recent years, the National Education Policy 2020 has further emphasized competency-based assessments, aligning with the principles of CCT.
