The Automated eXpert Zone (AXZ) is a conceptual AI-driven assessment platform designed to evaluate and certify vocational skills in real-time across India. It leverages machine learning algorithms to test candidates in areas such as welding, plumbing, coding, and textile design, providing instant competency scores aligned with the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF). AXZ is currently being piloted by select Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and skill development centres under the Skill India Mission to reduce manual evaluation bias and speed up certification. Candidates log in via Aadhaar authentication, perform tasks in a controlled digital environment, and receive a blockchain-based verifiable certificate. The platform is also being considered for integration with the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) to match certified candidates with employers. While still in proof-of-concept stage, AXZ has the potential to replace traditional pen-and-paper skill tests. For competitive exams like the SSC or state-level technical recruitments, familiarity with AXZ may become relevant as government hiring increasingly adopts digital assessment tools.
