Aadhaar Enabled Service Hub
Full Form of AESH
What is AESH?
Aadhaar Enabled Service Hub, popularly known as AESH, is a government-supported digital infrastructure initiative in India that allows authorised service centres to deliver Aadhaar-related services to citizens. It functions as a one-stop platform where people can apply for new Aadhaar enrolment, update demographic details, retrieve lost Aadhaar numbers, and get other identity-related corrections done through certified operators. The hub plays a vital role in extending Aadhaar services to rural and semi-urban areas where direct UIDAI centres are limited. Operated under the guidelines of the Unique Identification Authority of India, AESH centres use biometric authentication devices to verify residents and process their requests securely. Banks, post offices, and CSC (Common Service Centre) operators often act as AESH providers. The initiative strengthens India's digital identity mission by ensuring wider accessibility. For competitive exam aspirants, understanding AESH and related Aadhaar frameworks is important in sections covering government schemes, digital India, and e-governance topics.
