What is VGT?
A Variable Geometry Turbocharger, commonly known as VGT, is an advanced type of turbocharger used in modern diesel and petrol engines to optimise boost pressure across different engine speeds. Unlike conventional turbochargers that use a fixed geometry turbine, VGT systems feature adjustable vanes inside the turbine housing that change their angle based on engine load and RPM. This allows the turbo to deliver strong low-end torque while also preventing turbo lag at higher revs, resulting in smoother power delivery and improved fuel efficiency.
