Unified Endpoint Management
Full Form of UEM
What is UEM?
Unified Endpoint Management, commonly known as UEM, is an advanced technology solution that allows organisations to centrally manage and secure multiple types of endpoint devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, desktops, and IoT devices from a single console. It evolved from older concepts like Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) to provide a holistic approach covering every endpoint connected to a corporate network. In India, UEM has gained massive traction with the rapid growth of the IT sector, the widespread adoption of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policies, and the shift to hybrid work models after the pandemic. Indian enterprises, especially those in banking, IT services, and large conglomerates, deploy UEM platforms from vendors like Microsoft Intune, VMware Workspace ONE, ManageEngine, and Hexnode to enforce security policies, push applications remotely, and ensure compliance across thousands of distributed devices. The demand for skilled UEM professionals has surged in cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, and Mumbai. UEM is particularly relevant for IT professionals preparing for certifications like CompTIA, CISSP, and various enterprise mobility exams, as endpoint security is now a critical pillar of cybersecurity strategy across Indian industries.
