What is TTD?

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, commonly known as TTD, is the independent religious organisation that manages the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple located on the Tirumala hills near Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. Established in 1933, TTD is one of the wealthiest religious trusts in the world, overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and administration of the temple, which attracts over 20 million pilgrims annually. Apart from running the temple, TTD operates several educational institutions, hospitals, and charitable projects across India. It manages a chain of guest houses, free meal schemes serving thousands of devotees daily, and publishes religious literature in multiple languages. The organisation also runs the famous Sri Venkateswara Vedic Research and Training Centre and supports numerous social welfare programmes.
