Total Quality Service
Full Form of TQS
What is TQS?
Total Quality Service, commonly abbreviated as TQS, refers to a management approach that combines the principles of total quality management with a strong focus on customer service excellence. It extends traditional quality frameworks by ensuring that every department, employee, and process within an organisation is oriented towards delivering superior value to the end customer. In India, TQS is widely discussed in business schools, management textbooks, and corporate training programmes, particularly within the service sector industries such as banking, hospitality, telecommunications, and information technology. Indian companies including Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, and several public sector banks have adopted TQS-inspired practices to enhance client satisfaction and streamline internal operations. The concept gained strong traction in the country after the liberalisation of the Indian economy in the 1990s, when global competition pushed domestic firms to upgrade their service standards. The term frequently appears in competitive examinations, especially in UGC NET, MBA entrance tests, and government management recruitment papers.
