Registered Valuation Test
Full Form of RVT
What is RVT?
The Registered Valuation Test, commonly known as RVT, is an examination administered by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) on behalf of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI). It is designed to certify professionals as Registered Valuers under the Companies (Registered Valuers and Valuation) Rules, 2017, framed under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016. In India, RVT is mandatory for chartered accountants, company secretaries, cost accountants, and other qualified professionals who wish to independently value securities, assets, or business entities. The test is held multiple times a year and covers valuation principles, financial reporting standards, and relevant sections of corporate and insolvency law. Clearing the RVT enables a professional to register with IBBI and appear on its official panel of valuers. The examination carries strong relevance for commerce graduates and practising professionals pursuing careers in insolvency resolution, mergers, acquisitions, and corporate restructuring across the country.
