Rajasthan State Highway
Full Form of RSH
What is RSH?
Rajasthan State Highways, abbreviated as RSH, refer to the network of secondary roads maintained and managed by the state government of Rajasthan. These highways are constructed and overseen by the Public Works Department (PWD) of Rajasthan and play a vital role in connecting various cities, towns, and rural regions within the state. The RSH network supplements the National Highways (NH) system and serves as an essential link for intra-state transportation, commerce, and tourism. Rajasthan, being the largest state in India by area, depends significantly on a well-developed road infrastructure to support its diverse economy, which includes agriculture, mining, handicrafts, and a thriving tourism sector. The RSH system facilitates the smooth movement of goods, agricultural produce, and passengers across districts such as Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Bikaner, Kota, and Ajmer. These highways are particularly significant for defence logistics along the western international border with Pakistan. For competitive exam aspirants, understanding the state highway classification, including RSH numbering and district connectivity, is frequently tested in RAS, RPSC, SSC, and various state-level public service examinations across India.
