Requisition
Full Form of RQU
What is RQU?
A requisition is a formal written request for goods, services, funds, or personnel used across business, banking, and government organisations in India. It functions as an official internal document through which a department or employee formally asks another department to provide a specific resource. In the Indian banking sector, requisition forms are widely used to request cheque books, demand drafts, locker facilities, account statements, and inter-branch fund transfers. Corporate offices and IT companies use requisition notes for procurement of office supplies, equipment, and for raising hiring requests through HR requisition forms. Government departments and public sector undertakings rely on requisition letters for budget allocation, inter-departmental coordination, and material demands. The typical process involves the requester filling a standardised form, securing approval from the competent authority, and forwarding it to the fulfilling department. In India, the term is commonly encountered in branches of SBI, PNB, BOB, LIC offices, and private firms. For aspirants preparing for competitive exams such as IBPS PO, SBI Clerk, SSC CGL, and RRB, familiarity with the term is helpful as it frequently appears in banking awareness, general knowledge, and office procedure sections.
