What is RBT?
Revised Bloom's Taxonomy (RBT) is an educational framework developed in 2001 by Lorin Anderson and David Krathwohl as an update to the original 1956 Bloom's Taxonomy. It classifies cognitive learning objectives into six hierarchical levels: Remember, Understand, Apply, Analyze, Evaluate, and Create. In the Indian education system, RBT is widely adopted by curriculum bodies like CBSE and NCERT to design question papers and assessment rubrics. Teachers use it to ensure that classroom teaching and examinations promote higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) beyond mere memorization.
