Rashtriya Bal Puraskar
Full Form of RBP
What is RBP?
The Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (RBP) is India's highest civilian honor for children, previously known as the National Child Award. Instituted by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, it recognizes exceptional achievements by children in fields such as bravery, innovation, sports, arts, culture, social service, and academics. The award is conferred annually by the President of India on 14th April, the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. It includes a medal, certificate, and cash prize. The RBP is given to children between 5 and 18 years of age, with a maximum of 25 recipients each year. This national recognition aims to inspire young minds and highlight their contributions to society. In Indian government exams such as UPSC or state PCS, questions about the RBP often appear under the 'Awards and Honours' section, making it a relevant topic for aspirants. The award also serves to encourage child welfare and development initiatives across the country.
