Rural Agro eXport
Full Form of RAX
What is RAX?
Rural Agro eXport (RAX) is a government-led initiative in India aimed at boosting agricultural exports from rural and remote areas. Launched under the broader umbrella of the Agricultural Export Policy, RAX focuses on streamlining the supply chain, providing infrastructure support, and offering financial incentives to small and marginal farmers. It connects local farmer producer organizations (FPOs) directly with international buyers, reducing intermediaries and increasing farmer incomes. The initiative is implemented through state agricultural departments and export promotion bodies like APEDA. RAX is particularly active in states such as Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra, where it facilitates the export of organic produce, spices, and horticultural products. The scheme also provides training on quality standards, packaging, and certification. For competitive exams like UPSC and state PCS, RAX is relevant as an example of recent government interventions in the agriculture sector. Its use is most common in policy discussions, agricultural reports, and export data publications. By bridging the gap between rural producers and global markets, RAX contributes to the government's vision of doubling farmers' income and achieving self-reliance in agriculture.
