Quality Training Grant
Full Form of QTG
What is QTG?
The Quality Training Grant (QTG) is a financial assistance scheme launched by the Government of India to enhance the quality of vocational training programs across the country. Administered primarily through the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, the QTG aims to upgrade infrastructure, develop curricula, and train instructors in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and other skill development centres. It was introduced as part of the broader Skill India Mission to bridge the gap between industry requirements and available skilled workforce. The grant is typically used to procure modern equipment, implement digital learning tools, and conduct workshops for trainers. In the Indian context, the QTG is frequently referenced in policy documents, budget allocations, and reports by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). Students preparing for competitive exams like UPSC, SSC, or state PCS may encounter questions related to government skill development schemes, making the QTG a relevant topic. The scheme operates on a performance-based model where institutions must meet certain quality benchmarks to receive funding. Its implementation is monitored through periodic audits and feedback from industry partners, ensuring that training remains aligned with current market needs.
