Pension Withdrawal Form
Full Form of PWF
What is PWF?
The Pension Withdrawal Form (PWF) is an official document used by employees in India to claim withdrawal benefits from the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) under the Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS). When a member leaves employment before completing ten years of service, they are not entitled to a monthly pension but can withdraw the employee's share of pension contributions along with interest. The PWF facilitates this one-time settlement. It is primarily used by private sector employees and is relevant across all industries covered under the EPF Act. The form must be filled accurately, attested by the employer, and submitted to the regional EPFO office or through the online portal. In recent years, the EPFO has digitized the process, allowing members to submit the PWF via the UMANG app or the EPFO member portal. The PWF is distinct from the composite claim form used for full PF withdrawal. For competitive exams like UPSC, SSC, and banking, knowledge of EPFO forms—including PWF—is tested in the labour laws and social security sections. Understanding the PWF helps employees avoid delays in receiving their pension corpus upon leaving a job.
