What is NNS?

The National Nutrition Survey (NNS) is a periodic large-scale survey conducted by the Indian government, primarily through the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and technical agencies like the ICMR and the National Institute of Nutrition. It aims to assess the nutritional status of the population, focusing on children under five, adolescents, and women of reproductive age. The survey collects data on anthropometric indicators such as stunting, wasting, underweight, and overweight, as well as micronutrient deficiencies, dietary intake, and feeding practices.
