National Logistics Exchange
Full Form of NLX
What is NLX?
The National Logistics Exchange (NLX) is a digital platform launched by the Government of India under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). It serves as a unified marketplace connecting various stakeholders in the logistics ecosystem, including shippers, freight forwarders, transporters, warehouse operators, and financial institutions. The platform aims to streamline logistics operations, reduce transaction costs, and enhance supply chain efficiency across the country. By integrating services such as real-time tracking, e-way bill generation, and digital payments, NLX facilitates seamless coordination between different modes of transport and helps in reducing the logistics cost from the current 14% of GDP to global benchmarks. The exchange is accessible to businesses of all sizes and promotes transparency and competitiveness. In India, NLX is increasingly used by MSMEs and large corporations alike to book freight, compare rates, and manage documentation electronically. For competitive exams like UPSC, SSC, and state PCS, knowledge of NLX is relevant as a recent government initiative under the National Logistics Policy, often appearing in questions related to economic reforms and infrastructure development.
