Lok Zilla Education
Full Form of LZE
What is LZE?
Lok Zilla Education (LZE) refers to a decentralized framework for managing school education at the district level in India. Under this model, each zilla (district) has an autonomous body that oversees curriculum implementation, teacher training, infrastructure development, and student assessment tailored to local needs. LZE was introduced in select states as part of education reform to improve accountability and community participation. It operates through district education offices and school management committees, often collaborating with local NGOs. The system emphasizes mother-tongue instruction and regional cultural inclusion while aligning with national standards like the National Education Policy 2020. LZE is used in government schools, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas. For competitive exams such as CTET and state TETs, understanding LZE helps candidates answer questions on education governance and decentralization.
