The Land Revenue Department (LRD) is a state-level government body in India responsible for the administration of land records, collection of land revenue, and management of land-related disputes. Originating from the British colonial land revenue system, the LRD now operates under the Revenue Department of each Indian state. Its key functions include maintaining and updating land records such as Record of Rights (ROR), 7/12 extracts, and mutation registers; assessing and collecting land revenue taxes; and resolving boundary and ownership disputes.
