What is KUS?

Kisan Uttam Suraksha (KUS) is a Central Sector Scheme launched by the Government of India under the Department of Fertilizers. It aims to promote the balanced use of fertilizers, particularly micronutrients, to enhance soil health and crop productivity. The scheme provides financial assistance to farmers for the procurement of micronutrients like zinc, boron, and iron, as well as soil amendments such as gypsum and lime. KUS is implemented through the Soil Health Card scheme, encouraging farmers to apply fertilizers based on soil test recommendations. The initiative is part of the government's broader effort to reduce soil degradation and ensure sustainable agriculture.
