Kisan Sampada Yojana
Full Form of KSY
What is KSY?
Kisan Sampada Yojana (KSY) is a central sector scheme launched by the Government of India under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) in 2017. It aims to create modern infrastructure for the food processing sector, reduce post-harvest losses, enhance farmer incomes, and boost exports. The scheme provides financial assistance for setting up cold chains, food parks, packaging units, and mega food parks across the country. It is closely linked to the agricultural supply chain and is used by agri-entrepreneurs, cooperatives, state governments, and private players. KSY is implemented through various components such as Creation of Backward and Forward Linkages, Quality Assurance, and Technology Upgradation. In competitive exams like UPSC, SSC, and state civil services, KSY is often asked under the topics of government schemes, food security, and agricultural reforms. Understanding KSY helps aspirants grasp how policy interventions support the farm-to-fork ecosystem and contribute to the 'Doubling Farmers' Income' goal. The scheme also aligns with the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives, making it relevant for current affairs discussions.
