Indian Youth Union
Full Form of IYU
What is IYU?
The Indian Youth Union (IYU) is a proposed or local-level youth organisation in India that aims to engage young people in community development, civic awareness, and skill-building activities. While not a nationally recognised body like the Indian Youth Congress or the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, the IYU functions as a grassroots platform where youth volunteer for social causes such as cleanliness drives, tree plantation, voter awareness campaigns, and health camps. The acronym is used informally by student groups and local NGOs in states like Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Karnataka to refer to their youth wings. In some cases, it may also stand for 'I YU' in casual chat, but the educational reference context treats it as an organisational acronym. Exam relevance: Questions about youth organisations and their roles in nation-building occasionally appear in UPSC, SSC, and state civil services exams, particularly in the polity and social issues sections.
