Indian X-ray Association
Full Form of IXA
What is IXA?
The Indian X-ray Association (IXA) is a professional body representing radiologists, radiographers, and medical imaging technologists across India. Founded to promote the advancement of radiological science, IXA focuses on setting standards for X-ray practices, fostering research in diagnostic imaging, and organising continuing medical education (CME) programmes. The association works closely with the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (IRIA) and the Ministry of Health to ensure adherence to safety protocols in X-ray procedures. IXA is active in both urban and rural healthcare settings, advocating for better access to affordable imaging services. Its annual conference brings together experts to discuss innovations like digital radiography, AI in radiology, and radiation protection. For students pursuing careers in radiology, IXA offers certification courses and exam guidance, making it relevant for NEET PG and other medical entrance exams. The association also publishes a peer-reviewed journal to disseminate research. While less known among the general public, IXA is a key player in India's healthcare infrastructure, contributing to accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Its efforts align with the government's goal of expanding diagnostic facilities under schemes like Ayushman Bharat.
