Haryana Kisan Rozgar Yojana
Full Form of HKR
What is HKR?
HKR, or Haryana Kisan Rozgar Yojana, is a state government initiative launched by the Government of Haryana to provide assured employment to farmers in the state. The scheme aims to supplement the income of agricultural households by offering paid work during non-cropping seasons or periods of low agricultural activity. It is implemented through local Gram Panchayats and district authorities, with the objective of reducing rural distress and migration. Under HKR, eligible farmers are given work for up to 100 days in a year at minimum wage rates, similar to the central MGNREGA scheme but tailored to Haryana's agricultural context. The scheme is used primarily in rural areas of Haryana and is often linked to land development, water conservation, and other community projects. For competitive exams like Haryana Civil Services or State Level Eligibility Tests, questions on HKR may appear under the 'Haryana Government Schemes' section. It reflects the state's focus on rural welfare and employment generation, making it an important policy intervention for the agrarian economy of Haryana.
