What is G2B?

G2B, or Government to Business, refers to the electronic exchange of information and services between government agencies and the business community. In India, G2B is a core component of the country's e-Governance initiatives, aimed at simplifying regulatory compliance, reducing bureaucratic red tape, and fostering a business-friendly environment. Through online portals, businesses can file taxes, apply for licenses, register companies, submit tenders, and access policy updates without physical visits to government offices. Key platforms like the Ministry of Corporate Affairs' MCA21, the Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN), and the GeM (Government e-Marketplace) portal are prime examples of G2B services. These platforms have significantly improved transparency, efficiency, and turnaround times for business processes. G2B transactions are prevalent across sectors such as taxation, procurement, labour law compliance, and intellectual property registration. The model supports the ease of doing business rankings and aligns with the Digital India campaign.
