What is EQI?
The Emotional Quotient Index (EQI) is a metric that measures an individual's emotional intelligence (EI)—the ability to perceive, understand, manage, and regulate emotions in oneself and others. Unlike IQ, which assesses cognitive abilities, EQI focuses on interpersonal and intrapersonal skills such as empathy, self-awareness, social adaptability, and stress management. In India, the EQI is gaining traction across multiple sectors. Schools and universities increasingly incorporate EI assessments to identify students' emotional strengths and weaknesses, helping educators foster holistic development.
