Disha Dwar Yojana
Full Form of DDY
What is DDY?
Disha Dwar Yojana (DDY) is a flagship initiative of the Government of India aimed at providing comprehensive career guidance and skill development to students and young professionals across the country. Launched under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (now Ministry of Education), the scheme focuses on bridging the gap between academic learning and employability by establishing career counseling centres in schools, colleges, and community blocks. It integrates online platforms and mobile apps to deliver personalized aptitude assessments, information on emerging job sectors, and training modules. DDY is particularly significant in rural and semi-urban areas where access to professional guidance is limited. The scheme is implemented in partnership with state governments, educational institutions, and industry experts. For competitive exams like UPSC, SSC, and banking, understanding DDY is relevant as questions on government schemes for skill development and employment often appear. DDY aims to empower over 10 million students by 2025, fostering a workforce that meets the demands of a dynamic economy.
