What is CDB?

The Child Development Bureau (CDB) is a key division within India's Ministry of Women and Child Development. It is primarily responsible for the formulation, implementation, and monitoring of policies and programmes aimed at the holistic development of children aged 0–6 years, as well as pregnant and lactating mothers. The CDB oversees the flagship Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme, which provides supplementary nutrition, immunisation, health check-ups, and pre-school education through a network of Anganwadi centres across the country.
