What is BOU?

Bundelkhand Open University (BOU) is a state-level open university located in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, established in 2006 under the Uttar Pradesh State Open University Act. It operates under the distance education framework approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Distance Education Bureau (DEB). BOU offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, diplomas, and certificate courses across arts, science, commerce, management, education, and vocational streams. The university aims to provide accessible and affordable higher education to learners who cannot attend regular colleges due to geographic, economic, or personal constraints.
