All India Health eXchange
Full Form of AHX
What is AHX?
The All India Health eXchange (AHX) is a proposed national digital platform designed to facilitate the secure and interoperable exchange of health information across public and private healthcare providers in India. It aims to create a unified ecosystem where patient records, lab reports, prescription histories, and diagnostic data can be seamlessly shared with patient consent, thereby reducing duplication, improving diagnosis accuracy, and enabling better continuity of care. The AHX is envisioned to support India's Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) by acting as the backbone for health data interoperability. It would be used by hospitals, clinics, laboratories, insurance companies, and government health agencies. The platform is expected to roll out in phases across states, with pilot projects already underway in select districts. For students preparing for competitive exams like UPSC or NEET, understanding AHX is important as it directly relates to public health policy, digital governance, and healthcare reforms in India. The initiative underscores the government's push towards digitization in the health sector, aiming to empower patients with portable health records and streamline healthcare delivery nationwide.
