Ayushman Bharat Health Account
Full Form of AHA
What is AHA?
The Ayushman Bharat Health Account (AHA) is a unique 14-digit digital health ID issued by the Government of India under the flagship Ayushman Bharat scheme. It acts as a secure repository for an individual's medical history, including prescriptions, diagnostic reports, and immunization records, enabling seamless sharing across healthcare providers. Launched in 2021 as part of the National Digital Health Mission, AHA is primarily used in hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic centres across India to digitize health data and improve continuity of care. Patients can voluntarily create an AHA using their Aadhaar or mobile number, and consent-based access ensures privacy. For students preparing for exams like UPSC, NEET, or medical entrance tests, understanding AHA is crucial as it represents India's push towards universal health coverage and digital transformation in healthcare. The account supports integration with other health systems like the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission, making it a cornerstone of the country's digital health ecosystem.
