The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is a statutory body operating under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India. Established in 1995 by merging the International Airports Authority of India and the National Airports Authority, AAI is responsible for creating, maintaining, and managing civil aviation infrastructure across the country. It oversees 137 airports, including 34 international, 10 customs, and 93 domestic airports, along with providing air traffic management services over Indian airspace and adjoining oceanic areas.
